Parents Have a Whopping 32 Minutes to Themselves Per Day

If you have kids and feel like you never have any time to yourself, it's no illusion: You really don't. A new survey that Fox News is calling "depressing" finds that the average parent has just 32 minutes to him or herself each day. Meal delivery service Munchery surveyed 2,000 parents and found that after work and parenting duties were taken into account, there were 32 minutes left over for "me time" on average (an amount Moms.com says "honestly ... sounds pretty generous"). The survey found that 32% of parents don't get done "working" until 8pm each day, and in order to carve out more time for themselves, respondents said they hid from their kids an average of four times per week. More findings:

• Full-time working parents spend an average of 18 hours per week directly taking care of their kids.
• 24% of parents spend more than 30 hours per week directly taking care of their kids, in addition to their other responsibilities.
• Parents reported an average of five grocery store trips per week.
• They also reported an average of five episodes per week of their kids misbehaving.
