Someone Put Googly Eyes on Statue, City Is Not Amused
The eyes follow you like the city of Savannah will follow whoever did this.   (City of Savannah)

"It may look funny but harming our historic monuments and public property is no laughing matter, in fact, it's a crime," the city of Savannah, Ga., said in a Facebook post detailing the nature of the crime. It seems that someone thought it would be clever to give the city's statue of Nathanael Greene the addition of eyeballs that WTOC describes as "googly," and Savannah wanted the public's assistance in tracking down the vandal. It appears the post, however, made social media users' own eyes a little buggy: As of this writing, it's been shared more than 24,000 times, with some 6,600 mostly snarky comments. "You guys do realize you just dared your entire city to googly eyes all of your monuments right? Just pick the eyes off and move on," read one typical one. "Who is Nathaniel Greene? Never mind. I’ll Googly him," wrote another, per the Washington Post. (More pranks stories.)
