Good luck if you're planning to travel for Thanksgiving. According to AAA, a record number of people will be doing so this year. Specifically, more than 54 million people, or the highest number since a record was set in 2005, per Newsday. That number includes Americans traveling more than 50 miles from home, whether by road, rail, or air, and it's a 4.8% increase over last year. Most (48.5 million) will be driving, meaning you should expect traffic starting, yes, as early as Tuesday. Also danger: CNN reports Thanksgiving weekend is one of the deadliest holidays to be on the road. For the least traffic, AAA recommends leaving on Thanksgiving itself, and for or the trip back home, the organization recommends leaving Friday or Saturday as most people plan to return home Sunday. (Trump pardoned Peas and Carrots Tuesday.)
