LeBron James likes to share music lyrics on Instagram, but a recent one has led to a public apology, reports USA Today. In an Instagram story, the Los Angeles Laker star quoted a lyric from the song "ASMR" by 21 Savage: "We been getting that Jewish money, Everything is Kosher." It came to light via reporter Darren Rovell of the Action Network, who posted a screen grab and wondered, "Does quoting lyrics from a song absolve the person quoting from the responsibility behind the words? I'd argue no, especially with a following of 45 million." In a subsequent mea culpa, James said he didn't mean to offend.

"Apologies, for sure," he tells ESPN. "That's not why I chose to share that lyric. ... I actually thought it was a compliment." He adds: "It definitely was not the intent, obviously, to hurt anybody." The sports network says the NBA isn't expected to fine James over the incident. (James recently had harsh words for NFL owners and their "slave mentality" toward players.)
