Trump Club Crimes? Prosecutors Get the 'Evidence'

Robert Mueller, the FBI, and New Jersey prosecutors have all gotten involved in the case of two undocumented workers who apparently worked at one of President Trump's golf clubs, the Daily News reports. Anibal Romero, the workers' lawyer, says he's handed over evidence to the state attorney general's office. "I'm confident that federal and state authorities will conduct a complete and thorough investigation," he says. According to Romero, he initially contacted Mueller about Victorina Morales and Sandra Diaz, who say they worked illegally at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster and were given fake documentation by club staff.

"I wasn't sure, one, if they'd take me seriously and, two, if this could backfire on my clients," says Romero of contacting the Justice Dept., which has spearheaded Trump's drive against undocumented workers. But according to Romero, Mueller simply said it was outside his jurisdiction. A couple weeks later, the FBI contacted Romero and two agents told him they'd "coordinate" with the state attorney general. Romero says he later met with state prosecutors and handed them fake Social Security numbers, green cards, and pay stubs the club had given his clients, per the Washington Post.
