Ann Coulter used to be an enthusiastic supporter of President Trump, but as time has gone on and the border wall he campaigned on hasn't been built, that enthusiasm has waned, with her criticism of him picking up in recent weeks. "100 miles of border wall in exchange for amnestying millions of illegals. So if we grant citizenship to a BILLION foreigners, maybe we can finally get a full border wall," was the conservative commentator's latest jab after Trump's weekend proposal to Democrats on ending the partial government shutdown. Mike Huckabee, former governor of Arkansas and father to White House press secretary Sarah Sanders, isn't appreciative of her pushback and has a suggestion for her.
"If she's got the way to get it done, let her run for office," Huckabee told Brian Kilmeade Monday on the Fox News host's radio show. "She's never done that. ... [She's] never had to be in the position of having to sit down and work through something to a solution." The Daily Beast points out Huckabee and Coulter have long been at odds on how to handle young undocumented immigrants brought to the US by their parents: Huckabee thinks there should be "concessions," while Coulter is ready to deport everyone. Kilmeade also wanted to know why Trump even cares what Coulter thinks. "Well, I know he doesn't want people to go out and try to stir up his base against him," Huckabee said. "And I'm not sure why she would." Seth Meyers has a different theory. "Man, why is [Trump] so subservient to her?" Meyers mused on his show Monday, per the Daily Beast. "Does she have a different pee tape?" (More Mike Huckabee stories.)
