Seventh time's the charm? Glenn Close might hope so following an Oscar nod Tuesday for her role in The Wife. It brings Close's total to seven nominations, the most of any living actor who hasn't actually won an Oscar, reports the Los Angeles Times. The 71-year-old—who is up against, among others, Lady Gaga, with whom she shared a Critics Choice Award—didn't seem too put-out as of August: "I've done without one all these years."

Plus, Amy Adams, 27 years Close's junior, isn't far behind. Including her best supporting actress nomination for Vice, the 44-year-old has six nods and no wins. (Here are those six, as rounded up by GoldDerby.) Peter O'Toole had them both beat, however. He died in 2013 without an Oscar to show for his eight nominations. People, meanwhile, floats the possibility of an Oscar tie between Close and Lady Gaga. (See this year's biggest snubs.)
