Authorities are still trying to connect Samuel Little, who has been convicted of killing three women but has admitted to killing 90, to cold cases across the country. Now the 78-year-old has started drawing sketches of his victims for authorities, NBC News reports. The FBI has released 16 sketches by Little, most of which show women; one has been identified as a man who went by "Mary Ann" or "Marianne" and was killed in Miami. The FBI has so far managed to confirm (or match to open cases) 42 of Little's confessions but is still working on the rest; authorities are looking at unsolved deaths between 1970 and 2005 in more than a dozen states and are hoping someone will recognize the people shown in the sketches. The FBI says Little's drawings "have proven quite accurate," per CNN; two others released in the past resulted in identifications.
"Little chose to kill marginalized and vulnerable women who were often involved in prostitution and addicted to drugs. Their bodies sometimes went unidentified and their deaths uninvestigated," the FBI has previously said, noting that it also wasn't always obvious the victims were murdered because Little, a former boxer, usually knocked them unconscious first. Little has also struggled to provide dates to authorities, though he can offer detailed descriptions of the victims, where and how they were killed, and even what car he was driving at the time. One investigator has said he has "photographic memory" of the killings. The newly released sketches are each marked with a possible year and city in which the murder was carried out, USA Today reports. (Little made his astonishing confessions because he wanted to switch prisons.)
