Eighty-one individuals and entities on Monday heard from the House Judiciary Committee, which made its opening move in its sweeping investigation into President Trump by requesting documents from them. The broad list encompasses Trump's administration, businesses, campaign, and family, with those on the list including the White House, the FBI, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Jared Kushner, Sean Spicer, Steve Bannon, Paul Manafort, Jeff Sessions, John Kelly, Michael Cohen, longtime personal assistant Rhona Graff, Julian Assange, the NRA, the Trump Foundation, the Trump Organization, and the Trump Campaign (CNN has the full list here). The AP reports most of the 81 names on the list have been instructed to respond by March 19; those who don't comply could be subpoenaed.

Democratic Committee Chair Jerrold Nadler said the plan is to pursue three topics, reports NBC News: obstruction of justice (did Trump interfere in criminal investigations?), public corruption (was the emoluments clause violated); and abuses of power (looking at his comments on press, the judiciary, and law enforcement). The outcome of those probes could lay the groundwork for impeachment, though Nadler said Sunday "we're far from making decisions" about that. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy swung back at that Sunday, saying, "I think Congressman Nadler decided to impeach the president the day the president won the election." The AP reports Trump was asked by a reporter Monday about whether he'd cooperate with the probe. "I cooperate all the time with everybody," said the president. "You know, the beautiful thing, no collusion. It's all a hoax." (More President Trump stories.)
