London police are investigating the discovery of explosive devices at three transport hubs around the city on Tuesday, reports the Guardian. The good news is that the devices have been contained and all were relatively small—"capable of igniting an initially small fire," say police, per the AP. The devices were in padded mail bags, and they turned up in the mail at Waterloo Station, a busy rail hub; at a building near Heathrow Airport; and at City Airport, which is much smaller than Heathrow. Only one device—the one near Heathrow—was opened, and the package partially burned. Staffers at the other two locations called police instead of opening the packages. Nobody was injured, and no travel disruptions resulted. Also, nobody has claimed responsibility for the devices. (More explosives stories.)
