Luke Perry's 18-year-old daughter, Sophie, released her first statement Tuesday in the wake of her father's untimely death. "A lot has happened in this past week for me. Everything is happening so fast," she wrote on Instagram alongside a picture of her with her dad. "I made it back from Malawi just in time to be here with my family, And in the past 24 hours I have received an overwhelming amount of love and support. I cannot individually respond to the hundreds of beautiful and heartfelt messages, but I see them, and appreciate you all for sending positivity to my family and I. I’m not really sure what to say or do in this situation, it’s something you aren’t ever given a lesson on how to handle, especially when it’s all happening in the public eye. So bare [sic] with me and know that I am grateful for all the love. Just, being grateful quietly."

Her statement comes as gossip site Radar reports Perry's will, which a source says he drafted after a cancer scare in 2015, leaves everything to his two children. His 21-year-old son, Jack, is a professional wrestler who goes by "Jungle Boy Nate Coy." A photo of Perry cheering his son on at a match is making the rounds on social media in the wake of Perry's death, with USA Today calling it "heartbreaking." (Perry was more than just Dylan McKay.)
