It seems Democrats and Republicans can't even agree on one of the world's most-hated bands. "I didn't think we were gonna talk about Nickelback on the floor today," Rep. Mark Pocan, a Democrat from Wisconsin, said Thursday after he himself broached the subject while stating his support for a criminal justice amendment to end prison gerrymandering, per WLS. He then noted just four of 77,000 public comments opposed the change. "That's probably about the percent of people who think Nickelback is their favorite band in this country. It's pretty low," Pocan said, before catching the reaction of Rep. Rodney Davis, a Republican from Illinois.

"Nickelback's your favorite band? I apologize to the gentleman," Pocan said with a smile. "Why would you criticize one of the greatest bands of the '90's?" Davis, who was arguing against the change, playfully responded. "Yes, I do actually have a Nickelback song on my running playlist that I listen to on a regular basis." Pocan went on to credit Davis' bravery for such an admission, per Fox News. "One more reason there's a difference between Democrats and Republicans," he added before the amendment was passed with a voice vote. Davis apparently saw the silver lining. "It's always good to have some good humor on the floor of the House," he said. (Don't like Nickelback? Don't get arrested here.)
