The Trump 2020 campaign didn't waste any time after Attorney General William Barr disclosed Sunday that Robert Mueller's investigation hadn't found evidence that the Trump 2016 campaign conspired with Russia. An hour after Barr's letter was released, the campaign sent out a fundraising email claiming that Democrats had been caught in a "web of lies," Quartz reports. "Today marks the day that President Trump has been completely and fully vindicated by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, exposing the Russia collusion conspiracy theory for the sham that it always was and catching Democrats in an elaborate web of lies and deceit," the letter stated.

The campaign also released a video attacking the "reckless, false charges," Deadline reports. The video, which featured Democrats including DNC chair Tom Perez claiming there had been collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, urged supporters to donate to the campaign by texting "WITCHHUNT." Despite Barr's statement that the Mueller report "does not exonerate" Trump on allegations of obstruction of justice, the Trump team sees the findings as "political gold" and plans to use them against 2020 Democratic hopefuls, the Wall Street Journal reports. "You better believe we’re going to bludgeon them," says former campaign consultant Bryan Lanza. (More Mueller report stories.)
