Saturday Night Live went straight for the low-hanging fruit this week with a Cold Open again featuring Robert De Niro as Robert Mueller finishing his report, Aidy Bryant as William Barr favorably summarizing it, and Alec Baldwin as President Trump tweeting his response, reports the New York Times. Case in point has De Niro saying: "In conclusion it is my hope that this report will be made public, with a few redactions." Then Bryant: "Hella redactions." And Baldwin: "We’re going to black out everything except the words 'no' and 'collusion.'" Over at Paste, John-Michael Bond writes that the Cold Open "felt like watching a baseball player you respect wif swings in a batting cage. Instead of anything pointed, or at least funny, we get the old standard impressions just treading water." Sandra Oh guest-hosted an episode Bond calls "delightfully silly, yet politically toothless."
