Back in January, Britney Spears put her new Las Vegas show on hold so she could be with her dad as he recovered from some serious health issues. Now, as those health issues continue, sources say Spears' stress over them has increased to the point that she checked herself into a mental health facility about a week ago and plans to stay there for 30 days. The sources tell TMZ that after Jamie Spears' colon spontaneously ruptured last year, he's had two surgeries, but continues to have major problems with his intestines and colon and has been suffering from complications recently. Britney Spears has been under a conservatorship since 2008, after Jamie Spears intervened in 2007 due to what TMZ calls "issues relating to bipolarity" with his daughter.

Spears, 37, hasn't said anything publicly about being in a mental health facility, but on Wednesday she did post a quote on Instagram about self-care that she captioned, "We all need to take time for a little 'me time.'" A source close to the Spears family addressed that image with People, saying, "Britney just needed to focus on herself" as she cares for her dad. "Her dad being sick has taken a toll on her," the source continues. "He nearly died and actually had another surgery a few weeks ago. He’s not doing well. They’re so close and it has been a lot. There is nothing dramatic going on with her—she just realized she needs to make sure to take time to care for herself." (Could Heather Locklear end up in a conservatorship too?)
