Kate McKinnon will don the black turtleneck. The comedian-actress of Saturday Night Live and Ghostbusters fame has been cast to play Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes in a limited miniseries inspired by ABC's The Dropout podcast, which explores how "the world's youngest self-made female billionaire [lost] it all in the blink of an eye." Holmes, a Stanford dropout, claimed to have revolutionized blood testing with a machine that, well, didn't work. Deadline reports Hulu is "closing a deal" for the series, which would come from Fox Searchlight TV and run for six to 10 episodes. Podcast host Rebecca Jarvis is set to executive produce along with McKinnon, per Variety. (Holmes is also the subject of an HBO documentary that prompted debate about her voice.)
