Authorities in Canada say it's all but certain that three renowned mountain climbers are dead. “Based on the assessment of the scene, all three members of the party are presumed to be deceased," declared the Canadian parks service regarding the fate of American Jess Roskelley and Austrians David Lama and Hansjorg Auer, per the Guardian. The sliver of uncertainty is because rescuers have been not been able to get on the ground after an avalanche near Mount Hawse in Banff National Park in Alberta, reports the CBC. However, an aerial assessment spotted a partially buried body and climbing equipment. Back in 2003, Roskelley climbed Everest at age 20, then setting the mark for the youngest American to do so.
