Julian Assange received a visit from an old friend on Tuesday—none other than actor and model Pamela Anderson, CNN reports. "He does not deserve to be in a super max prison," said Anderson after seeing the WikiLeaks founder at Belmarsh high-security prison in London. "He has never committed a violent act, he's an innocent person." She went with Kristinn Hrafnsson, editor-in-chief of WikiLeaks, who said the 47-year-old activist only gets an hour per day out of his cell. "It is for me shocking to see my friend, an intellectual, a publisher, a journalist" in this position, said Hrafnsson. "A man who has transformed the world of journalism with his work sitting in a high-security prison."

"Someone said that you could judge the civilization of a society by visiting its prisons and frankly I have to say from my heart that this visit did not reflect well on this society here," he added, saying the pair were "quite emotional" after Assange's first social visit in prison. Anderson sounded that way, calling Assange "an incredible person" and saying "I love him," per the Guardian. She had often visited him during his stay at the Ecuadorian embassy and said the pair were more than friends, per Fox News. After his April arrest, she bristled with contempt: "How could you [Ecuador]? (Because he exposed you)," she tweeted. "How could you UK. ? Of course—you are America's b---h and you need a diversion from your idiotic Brexit bull----." (Assange got a year in prison and is fighting his extradition to the US.)
