There was a massive search and rescue effort on the Danube river Wednesday night after a boat packed with South Korean tourists capsized and sank in Budapest. Authorities say seven people have been confirmed dead and another 21—19 Koreans and two Hungarian crew members—are missing, the BBC reports. Hungarian authorities say the Mermaid was hit by a larger cruise ship during a Wednesday evening downpour, which swelled the river and caused strong currents, reports the AP. The sunken ship was located Thursday near the city's Margit Bridge. Officials say none of the tourists were wearing life jackets. Boat traffic on the Danube south of Budapest has been halted amid fears that the strong currents will carry victims a long way downstream. (More Hungary stories.)
