Singer Kenny Rogers was admitted to a hospital in Georgia to be treated for dehydration, his representative said Friday. "He will remain there to complete some physical therapy to get his strength back prior to discharge," a statement said. The spokespeople said in an Instagram post that they were issuing the statement to counter "wild misinformation and speculation" about Rogers' health. A member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, the 80-year-old Rogers announced his retirement in 2015 and canceled Farewell Tour dates last year, citing "health challenges," People reports. "He appreciates the concern and well wishes he has received from his fans," the statement said, "and can assure everyone he plans on sticking around through the years to come." (Randy Travis made a surprise appearance, adding one word to a song.)
