(AP Photo/Kevin Frayer, File) With climbing deaths dogging Mount Everest, CNN reports that seven climbers and their liaison officer have gone missing near a notorious Himalayan peak. The team leader's Facebook posts suggest they were about to climb the difficult Nanda Devi East—the BBC says no one has climbed its 24,000-plus feet—and they didn't reach base camp as scheduled. The company behind the expedition waited a few days before contacting authorities on Friday. Search teams have now gotten to the first base camp, about 15 miles under the peak, but rain and snowfall are said to be hampering the search. The climbing group included two Americans, four Britons, and an Australian. (More mountain climbing stories.) Report an error
