Gwyneth: Hub and I Live Apart Half the Time, for 'Polarity'

Conscious un-cohabitating? Gwyneth Paltrow may have coined yet another new concept with a recent revelation to the Sunday Times, via Today: She and husband Brad Falchuk, whom she married in September, don't always live together. While Falchuk does spend four nights a week at his wife's home in Los Angeles, he heads back to his own place in LA for the other three, which is when he watches his two kids from a previous relationship. "All my married friends say that the way we live sounds ideal and we shouldn't change a thing," says the 46-year-old Goop founder, adding the arrangement gets a thumbs-up from her "intimacy coach," who says it maintains "polarity" in the couple's relationship. For those who might scoff at this setup, Paltrow tells the Times, via Vanity Fair: "I don't care about the haters. Haters are irrelevant to me. ... I'm not making this work for people who aren't in the arena."

Paltrow and Falchuk have at least one supporter outside of their circle of friends: Lauren Evans at Jezebel, who notes the couple just may be onto something. "It shouldn't take an intimacy teacher to tell you that personal space is excellent for a healthy relationship," Evans writes, adding that Paltrow and Falchuk also took family members (including Paltrow's ex, Chris Martin) on their honeymoon. "It seems like there's very much something to Paltrow's expansive approach to family," Evans writes. "The best part is, you don't have to go anywhere near a Goop Labs to give it a shot." There may be a clue that this somewhat unconventional living arrangement could be coming to an end: A Variety report last week noted that Falchuk has put his "showbiz pedigreed" Los Angeles home on the market for $10 million.
