Sara Netanyahu dropped close to $100,000 in Israeli taxpayer money on high-end catering on the false pretext that the prime minister's residence did not employ chefs, reports the BBC. Benjamin Netanyahu's wife has pleaded guilty to misusing public money, and will pay about $15,000—a $12,490 repayment to Israel, and a $2,777 fine. She will also pick up a criminal record, though Jerusalem Post reports that the plea deal reached contained reduced charges from the fraud and breach of trust she was originally charged with. "The prosecution is aware there isn't full correlation between the sum and the criminal offense, however in the framework of the legal procedure, a full correlation is not obligatory," says the prosecutor on the case. It's not Sara Netanyahu's first legal rodeo: A former housekeeper who complained of workplace abuse was awarded $47,000 in 2016. (More Sara Netanyahu stories.)
