Woman Arrested After Bringing Daughter's Body to Hospital
Jasmine Anderson.   (Alexandria Police Department)

On July 17, Jasmine Anderson brought the body of her 5-year-old daughter to a hospital in Louisiana, claiming Audrey Lynn Chelette had been killed in a car crash. Police, however, said the little girl's neck injury "was not consistent with what would occur during a crash"—and they could not find any evidence that the crash actually happened. Anderson, 24, has been charged with second-degree murder in the girl's death and the Alexandria Police Department is now taking a fresh look at the death of Anderson's 4-year-old son Christopher Dawayne Chelette Jr., in April and the death of the children's father, Christopher Dawayne Chelette Sr., in 2016, NBC reports. The 4-year-old boy allegedly choked to death on a bottle cap. Investigators in 2016 determined that Chelette Sr. hanged himself.

"She was with them in their dying moments—all three of them—and none of them lived, " Kendra Foster, the children's grandmother and Chelette Sr.'s mother, tells NBC. She says doctors told her Audrey was brought to the hospital with a four-inch slit on her neck and no other injuries from the alleged crash. Anderson is being held on $500,000 bond. KALB reports that according to a Pineville Police Department report from 2017, Anderson was hospitalized in April that year after passers-by told police that she "seemed unstable," was talking about suicide, and said she "wanted to give her children [to] the lake or river." One of the callers said Anderson had tried to give him her children. According to the police report, the children were released to a relative after Anderson was taken to the hospital.
