The case of a missing Connecticut mom now includes a bloodstained T-shirt and a lawyer's doubtful response, the Hartford Courant reports. Police apparently found the Vineyard Vines shirt—which they believe Jennifer Dulos wore on May 24, the day she vanished—along with a bra they think is hers, two mops, and sponges spattered with a little blood. The items were found in a garbage bin along Albany Avenue in Hartford, where, per law enforcement sources, her estranged husband Fotis Dulos was seen on video tossing bags into dumpsters and trash cans May 24. But Fotis' attorney, Norm Pattis, is already expressing doubt. "I am unaware of any evidence about what she was wearing," he said. "This sounds like desperate speculation."
Pattis says videos provided by prosecutors of the alleged trash dump either couldn't be opened or were too grainy, per the Stamford Advocate. But there could be more trash evidence after police spent three weeks sifting through a Hartford trash plant. Police say Fotis also threw out a FedEx package that contained altered license plates from a car he once owned. Fotis and his girlfriend, Michelle Troconis, are facing charges of evidence-tampering and hindering prosecution in Jennifer's disappearance; police say blood stains and evidence of a "serious physical assault" were found in Jennifer's New Canaan home. This week, Jennifer's mother, Gloria, filed for sole custody of the couple's three children. (Fotis has said, "I know what I haven't done" and suggested Jennifer copied Gone Girl.)
