Monica Lewinsky has a new gig—as co-producer on American Crime Story. The FX show's third season will cover former President Bill Clinton's impeachment, and in particular, "the overlooked dimensions of the women who found themselves caught up in the scandal and political war that cast a long shadow over the Clinton presidency," FX CEO John Landgraf says, per the Hollywood Reporter. "I was hesitant, and truthfully more than a little scared to sign on," Lewinsky tells Vanity Fair, though showrunner Ryan Murphy was able to convince her. "I came to understand even more clearly how dedicated he is to giving a voice to the marginalized in all of his brilliant work," Lewinsky says.

"I'm so grateful for the growth we've made as a society that allows people like me who have been historically silenced to finally reintroduce my voice to the conversation," adds the 46-year-old. Based on Jeffrey Toobin's 1999 book A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Story of the Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President, the season will premiere in the fall of 2020, with production to begin in February. Sarah Burgess will serve as writer. Beanie Feldstein of Booksmart will play Lewinsky. Sarah Paulson will pose as Linda Tripp and Annaleigh Ashford as Paula Jones, NBC News reports. The show previously tackled the trial of OJ Simpson and the murder of Gianni Versace. (More TV shows stories.)
