Singer Mike Posner is on a walking trek across the US, releasing a new song for every state he enters—but he was sidelined after completing 1,800 of his planned 2,833 miles, thanks to a rattlesnake. "Crazy day yesterday!" Posner wrote Thursday on Instagram. "I had just crushed 16 miles and was going for 8 more when I got bit by a baby rattlesnake! That venom is no joke! I got to the hospital and got the anti-venom in time." The 31-year-old was airlifted to a Colorado hospital, reports TMZ, which has a photo of his swollen foot.

Posner says he'll be hospitalized a few days, and it'll be weeks before he can start walking again, but he's excited to get back to his journey. Until then, he says he's "enjoying the AC and the nice bed, haven’t had those in a while Hahahaha!" Extra notes he started walking in April from New Jersey with the aim of making it to Venice, California; he was inspired to start the trek after the deaths of his father and his close friend Avicii. "I feel everyone has a list of things they'd like to do in life and then a list of things they have to do," he said at the time. "After (the deaths) I realized I couldn't wait to do these things I had to do on that list. I'd been putting (the walk) off for years and years and years. The time is now."
