Tracking dogs have led crews searching a dense jungle in Malaysia to footprints that may belong to a teenager who vanished Sunday. Nora Quoirin, 15, was on vacation with her parents at the Dusun resort when found her room empty, the window open. Malaysian officials have dispatched hundreds of officers, who are using drones and helicopters, to search for her, the Independent reports. They found no other clues in the area of the footprints, authorities said. Her parents fear Nora, who has a learning disability, has been kidnapped. The police theory is that she climbed out the window, and they consider her a missing person, per the New York Post, though they haven't ruled out a crime.
Loudspeakers carried her mother's voice through the jungle on Friday in an effort to draw the London teenager out, should she be hiding. "Nora darling, Nora, I love you. Mum is here," the recording says, per the BBC. On the family's GoFundMe page, relatives wrote that they doubt Nora left her room on her own. She "would not know how to get help and would never leave her family voluntarily," an aunt wrote. Her grandfather posted that Nora is shy, reserved and fearful.
