A newlywed couple had their dreams—and their very lives—torn to shreds Friday only minutes after getting married, KFDM reports. Harley Joe Morgan, 19, and Rhiannon Boudreaux Morgan, 20, were pulling out of Texas courtroom when Harley's car collided with a man's Ford F-250 pickup. The groom's mother and sister were among wedding-party members who witnessed the devastation while following behind. "I had to sit there and watch my two babies die," Harley's mother, LaShawna Morgan, tells the San Antonio Express-News. "That is an image I will have for the rest of my life. I still have his blood on my hands from trying to pull him and her out of there."
The longtime on-and-off couple had plans: Harley wanted to return to college and Rhiannon, a Walmart employee, talked about nursing school. But all that ended when they pulled onto Highway 87 in Orange County and hit the pickup, which was pulling a trailer with a tractor on board. The pickup driver was unhurt and the couple's Chevy Cavalier was left crumpled in a ditch, per KVUE. No charged have yet been filed. Incredibly, LaShawna was able to give the world advice: "Go home and hug your family tonight," she said. "If you have kids, go home and hug them, because now I don't have my kid. I don't have the one thing in my life that made me happy." (Another newlywed couple encountered tragedy in Florida.)
