The former Illinois congressman who once said before the 2016 election "I'm grabbing my musket" if Donald Trump lost, has apparently had a change of heart: Joe Walsh announced his candidacy for the 2020 Republican nomination Sunday on ABC's This Week, saying "I'm going to run for president." The tea party darling, who served in the House from 2011 to 2013 and now has a radio show, argues that Trump is unfit for the White House. Former Mass. Gov. William Weld, who last held office more than 20 years ago, is the third Republican candidate for the nomination. A Trump campaign rep had a succinct response to Walsh's candidacy: "Whatever."
