The seventh question in Playboy's 20 questions to Silicon Valley star Thomas Middleditch brought what People calls an "unexpected" answer. When the magazine brought up that Middleditch had once visited a swingers club while making the movie Godzilla, then asked if he was actually part of the "swinging scene," Middleditch gave an unequivocal "yes." "I don't know how much I can say, because I don't want my wife to be mad at me," the 37-year-old star replied, revealing he and his spouse of four years do indeed partake in the alternative sexual lifestyle. Middleditch, who plays what the Daily Beast calls the "socially challenged" character of coder Richard Hendricks on the HBO comedy, says he realized after marrying Mollie Gates that because of his sexual appetite, they had to get "nontraditional" in the bedroom.

"To her credit, instead of saying 'F--- you, I'm out,' she was like, 'Let's figure this out," Middleditch says, adding, "Swinging has saved our marriage." Not that there aren't ground rules: "We have different speeds, and we argue over it constantly. ... I love my wife like I've never loved anyone before. With two people who feel that way about each other, how do you go down that road? It's tough." He adds that the trials and tribulations of living as swingers is now the premise of a comedy series he and Gates are writing together. As for other couples thinking about going that route, Middleditch advises to spell out and agree on any boundaries. And also: "Bring a therapist along for the ride." (Read more swingers stories.)
