Joe Biden went on Jimmy Kimmel Wednesday night to talk impeachment, and he thinks Democrats have a case. "Based on the material that they acknowledged today, it seems to me it's awful hard to avoid the conclusion that it is an impeachable offense," said Biden. (Watch it here.) He's referring, of course, to President Trump's July phone call with Ukraine's president in which Trump pressed Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate Biden and son Hunter. "The idea that someone would call a head of a foreign state, ahead of time withhold significant military aid ... and then ask basically, 'Can you cooperate with Rudy Giuliani? He’s coming over,'" said Biden, per Variety. The former VP also took note of Trump's offer to have the US attorney general help with any Ukraine investigation. "It’s such a blatant abuse of power that I don’t think it can stand." Related:

  • Big number: A total of 218 members of the House—217 Democrats, plus independent Justin Amash—now back impeachment proceedings, reports the Washington Post. That's a milestone because it represents the number of votes that would be needed to impeach Trump. However, the 218 represents those who merely back the inquiry, not impeachment itself.
  • 'Nobody pushed me': So how does Ukraine leader Zelensky feel about the released transcript? Not thrilled. "I think such things, such conversations between heads of independent states, they shouldn't be published," he said Wednesday at the UN, reports the AP. "We had, I think, good phone call," he added, per CNBC. "It was normal. We spoke about many things. I think you read that nobody pushed me."
