If Warren Vacates Senate Seat, a Familiar Face Is Interested

If Elizabeth Warren manages to translate her rising poll numbers into a presidential victory in 2020, she'll leave behind a vacant Senate seat in Massachusetts. On Friday, former UN ambassador Samantha Power said she's open to the idea of running to fill that vacancy, reports the Boston Globe. "I don’t think it’s a good idea to rule anything out,” said Power, 49, during an event to plug a new memoir. However, the Hill notes that it's not clear how seriously to take Power, given that she said she "wouldn't rule out managing the Red Sox," either. Power left the Obama administration in 2017 and has been teaching at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and Harvard Law School—the same place Warren once taught. (More Samantha Power stories.)
