Trump: ISIS Leader 'Al-Baghdadi Is Dead'
This 2019 file image purports to show the leader of the Islamic State group, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, being interviewed by his group's Al-Furqan media outlet.   (Al-Furqan media via AP, File)

After tweeting ominously Saturday night that "Something very big has just happened," President Trump confirmed on Sunday morning what was widely reported in the interim: "Last night the United States brought the world's No. 1 terrorist leader to justice. Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is dead." Trump confirmed that the ISIS leader killed himself by detonating a suicide vest during a US raid in Syria; the explosion also killed three of his children. Said Trump: "The thug who tried so hard to intimidate others spent his last moments in utter fear, in total panic and dread, terrified of the American forces bearing down on him."
