As police searched for Heidi Broussard, 33, and two-week-old Margot Carey, Broussard's fiance said they don't have much to go on. They haven't been heard from since Thursday, KVUE reports. "There's no signs of struggle," said Shane Carey, who is Margot's father. "There's nothing, no evidence, so we're just trying to piece it together, but there really are no pieces." The two were last seen at an Austin, Texas, elementary school Thursday morning, dropping off Broussard's son. Police said they're thought to have returned home after that stop. Carey said he came home to the apartment they share in the afternoon. He said Broussard's car was there, but no one was home, per NBC.
Carey said he realizes that some people will suspect he was involved in the disappearance, per People. “I just pretty much ignore that,” he said. "It's not true." Carey said he and Broussard have been together for a decade, and asked the public to keep an eye out for his daughter and fiancee. "She's a great mom," he said. "She needs to be back." Margot, Carey said, is "a gorgeous little baby." (More missing persons stories.)
