Confessed serial killer Samuel Little has been drawing dozens of macabre sketches: Each of them shows a woman he says he killed between 1970 and 2005. The 79-year-old says he strangled a total of 93 victims across the country, which, if confirmed, would make him the most prolific US serial killer ever—and now authorities are working to identify another one of those victims. Mississippi's Harrison County Sheriff's Office released a flyer this week showing one of Little's sketches and asking for the public's help in figuring out who she is, CNN reports. The woman, who was last seen at or near a bar in the North Gulfport area, went missing or was killed before December 1992, but authorities have not yet matched her to a missing persons report or remains, WLOX reports. (Also this week, Little was indicted for a murder in Georgia, WJCL reports.)
The HCSO says five of Little's victims were picked up in the Gulfport area, and just three of them have been identified so far, thanks in part to Little's sketches. Police are trying to identify the other two, using information Little has given them—authorities say he can remember his crimes with "near-photographic detail," per the Clarion-Ledger. "We are working under the assumption that the other two confessions, just like the first three we identified, are true," says an investigator with HCSO. "I recognized that first case immediately because he remembered enough details about it and he is remembering specific things and they are turning out to be accurate." Little was already in prison for beating and strangling three women when the FBI started linking him to murders across the country; he's currently serving three life sentences in California for murders there.
