Tragedy struck north Houston on Saturday when a woman was killed and another badly injured in what police say was a "vicious dog attack," the Houston Chronicle reports. Three pitbulls likely attacked the women at around 5am on the street, leaving one dead in a ditch and covered with bite marks, per KTRK. Little else is known, but police received calls from a man saying his wife was a victim and, moments later, from the dog's owner. The injured woman was hospitalized and the dogs have been contained. Neighbors say the dogs have gotten violent before, once attacking their owner. Police say the owner could be charged with negligent manslaughter; Houston requires dogs to be kept on a leash.
