Caressa Nolte said she met Heidi Broussard and Magen Fieramusca 24 years ago at church camp. Broussard and Fieramusca stayed best friends. Nolte and Fieramusca fell out of touch, but since Broussard and her infant daughter disappeared on Dec. 12, the two began talking on the phone every day. "She's been like sick over this," Nolte said. On Thursday, KHOU reports, Nolte was being interviewed live on the Jay is 4 Justice podcast when she was told that investigators were searching Fieramusca's home. "Oh my God, what?" Nolte asked. "That's Magen ... her best friend." Broussard's body was found Thursday evening in the trunk of a car in near Houston, more than 100 miles from her home in Austin. She'd been strangled. A child police believe to be Broussard's daughter, Margot Carey, was found unharmed in a home there.

Nolte told the hosts that Fieramusca told her she had just had a baby, though Nolte hadn't seen any pictures of her. She had heard the infant, Luna Mae, over the phone. "I even told her she sounded sweet," she said, per KHOU. The hosts found a baby registry in the names of Christopher Green and Maygen Humphries, a name Fieramusca has used before. Green, who has not been charged, owns the house, Nolte said. Another friend said she had been talking to Fieramusca while police searched for Broussard and her daughter, per NBC. "She played it off perfectly," Rachel West said. "You wanna talk about a plot twist?" Fieramusca is in custody on kidnapping charges. Child Protective Services is caring for the infant. (Fieramusca had faked a pregnancy, police said.)
