These Idaho Kids Are Missing. That's Not the Only Twist
These undated photos released by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children show Joshua Vallow, 7, left, and Tylee Ryan, 17. They were last seen on Sept. 23, 2019 in Rexburg, Idaho.   (National Center for Missing & Exploited Children via AP)

After relatives hadn't talked to 7-year-old Joshua Vallow since September, Idaho police conducted a welfare check two days before Thanksgiving. Mom Lori Vallow and the boy's new stepfather, Chad Daybell, reportedly said the boy was staying with a family friend in Arizona. Except police later found out he wasn't, and it's far from the only odd element of the story. Police have also determined that Lori Vallow's 17-year-old daughter Tylee Ryan hasn't been seen since September. And when they executed a search warrant on the family's Rexburg house after confirming Joshua wasn't in Arizona, they discovered the couple had "abruptly" left both their home and the area, reports CNN. But the story has more twists.

Police are also reexamining the death of Chad Daybell's first wife, Tammy Daybell. She was found dead in her Fremont County home on Oct. 19 from what was thought to be natural causes. Police now aren't so sure; her body was exhumed from its resting place in Utah on Dec. 11, reports the AP, and an autopsy is being conducted. Tammy Daybell's father tells Fox13 that Chad Daybell called him on the day Tammy died, crying and saying she was coughing heavily when she went to bed and died during the night. Daybell and Lori Vallow married just weeks after Tammy Daybell's death. A relative alleges that Daybell and Vallow are members of a "cult" that spun off of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; he tells Fox13 that Daybell has written books about the world's end.
