Odell Beckham Jr. allegedly slapped a security guard's butt, and now he's in trouble, after the guard (variously referred to as a guard and a police officer) complained to police and an arrest warrant was issued for the NFL star. The Cleveland Browns wide receiver, who once played for Louisiana State University, was in the LSU locker room after the Tigers' national championship victory Monday at New Orleans' Superdome when the alleged butt slap was caught on surveillance video, ESPN reports. The warrant, on a charge of simple battery, was issued Thursday in the city, NOLA.com reports.
The officer appears to be admonishing an LSU player before Beckham allegedly slaps his butt, and a separate AL.com report notes that officers had asked players not to smoke cigars in the locker room after their victory. "We are aware of the incident and have been in touch with Odell and his representatives on the matter," the Browns said in a statement. "They are cooperating with the proper authorities to appropriately address the situation." Beckham was also caught on video allegedly handing out cash to LSU players in the locker room, and the university's athletic department says it is handling that issue.
