Even though his presidential bid is officially kaput, Andrew Yang isn't done talking about some of the ideas he advanced during his run—and he wants to make sure everyone's still listening. He's taken what he tells the New York Times is the "natural next step": establishing Humanity Forward, a nonprofit that calls itself a "human-centered movement" set up to talk about concepts like universal basic income (UBI), data as a property right, and capitalism done the "humanity first" way. Part of the way the organization will spread the word on these ideas is through conferences, pilot programs, and a podcast entitled Let Yang Speak. "We knew we wanted to keep the movement growing, the only question was what form that would take," Yang said Wednesday.

CNN, which Yang now works for as a political commentator, notes that his new organization will also work on getting voters to come out for the general election—particularly young people, independent voters, Asian Americans, and "individuals who have not been engaged in the political process," per a release. An extra bonus is up for grabs for one lucky person who donates to the nonprofit: They'll get $1,000 a month for an entire year, out of Yang's own pocket, to showcase how Yang's Freedom Dividend UBI concept works. In addition, the Week notes that a still-to-be-picked test-run town in New York state will be given $500,000 so each resident will get $1,000 a month for a year. Yang tells the Times he's "super excited" about the nonprofit: "My hands were tied as a political candidate to some extent. And now I get to work." (More Andrew Yang stories.)
