The Seattle Mariners' response to a fan complaint has set off a dispute about gay rights and public displays of affection. A Safeco Field employee told a lesbian couple they had to either stop kissing in the stands or leave the game, KOMO TV reports. One of the women says the kiss was a peck on the lips, but security received a report of "groping and making out," the team tells the Post-Intelligencer.

The ballpark's code of conduct discourages PDA. Sirbrina Guerrero responded to the complaint about her behavior by snapping pictures of heterosexual couples kissing during the game. She says she was targeted because she's gay. The stadium employee who reprimanded her said the mother who complained "doesn't want to explain to the kids why two girls are kissing."
