Monday morning brought the news that UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson had entered the hospital Sunday night as a precautionary measure for more tests because he continued to show symptoms 10 days after testing positive for the coronavirus. Now, an apparent worsening. Bloomberg reports the 55-year-old has been taken to the ICU. The BBC has this statement from a rep, who says Johnson has instructed Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab to deputize "where necessary":

  • "Over the course of this afternoon, the condition of the prime minister has worsened and, on the advice of his medical team, he has been moved to the intensive care unit at the hospital. The PM is receiving excellent care, and thanks all NHS staff for their hard work and dedication."
