Even, or maybe especially, amid a pandemic, thoughts of vacation are bubbling up—and the idea of a "staycation" is looking more likely for most of us. WalletHub decided to figure out which US cities are the most appealing for those remaining close to home, looking at more than 180 of the most populated cities in America across two categories: recreation (including everything from how strict "shelter in place" orders are to what parks, bike paths, and hiking trails are available) and rest and relaxation, which focuses on what the weather is like, how many homes have swimming pools, and the average price of pizza, burgers, and alcohol. Here are the top 10:
- Plano, Texas
- Boise, Idaho
- Tampa, Fla.
- Charleston, SC
- Lincoln, Neb.
- Fort Smith, Ark.
- Scottsdale, Ariz.
- Grand Prairie, Texas
- Austin, Texas
- Orlando, Fla.
