Clemens Used Viagra for On-Field Boost

Roger Clemens was on at least one performance enhancing drug, a clubhouse source tells the New York Daily News: Viagra. Clemens wasn’t using Vitamin V to help with the ladies, he—and several of his teammates—were using it to improve his on-field performance. Viagra has become a major fad among athletes, because of its ability to improve endurance and deliver nutrients to muscles.

“All my athletes took it,” said BALCO founder Victor Conte. “It’s bigger than creatine. It’s the biggest product in nutritional supplements.” Speaking of biggest, some may have needed it for its intended purpose; testosterone injections often bring impotence. Right now the drug is legal in MLB, but it’s grown so prevalent in pro sports that the World Anti-Doping Agency is studying its use. (More Viagra stories.)
