Nicknamed "the closer," Michelle Obama is known for winning over voters—but many still have not warmed up to her, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. A recent poll shows that 42% of voters have an unfavorable view of her and 25% are "very unfavorable." The first lady hopeful plans to win over women starting next week, though: Her first stop will be as guest host on The View.

“As a nation, we've had problems with black women," said a director at the National Council of Negro Women. "Let's be real." Strong first ladies have also been called overbearing, but don’t expect Obama to sweeten her style. "She may not be going on The View to soften up her image," one blogger said. "She's trying to reach out to all kinds of women." (More Michelle Obama stories.)
