Florida Crash Is a Tragedy for Beer Lovers
Cases of Coors Light beer are strewn across a highway after two semitrailers collided on a Florida highway on Wednesday near Brooksville, Fla.   (Florida Highway Patrol via AP)

Four 18-wheelers crashed on a Florida highway Wednesday, turning the roadway into "a silver sea of beer cans," per the AP. A semi-truck had clipped another while changing lanes on 1-75 near Brooksville, about 30 miles north of Tampa, which forced other trucks to brake shortly after 6am. An 18-wheeler carrying cases of Coors Light couldn't stop soon enough. It collided first with a pickup truck that had stopped for the crash, sending the vehicle into the first semi-truck parked on the shoulder. Then it hit another semi carrying concrete that had stopped in front of the pickup, reports the Bradenton Herald.

As a result, concrete spewed onto the southbound lanes along with what TMZ describes as "cases upon cases of the ol' silver bullets." As the only injuries were minor ones reported by the driver of the pickup, per the Herald, TMZ reports the real tragedy is that "hundreds of cans of brew are wasting away on a stretch of Florida interstate" and asks readers to "pour a little out … for the fallen brews." Though southbound lanes were closed for several hours, the beer, concrete, and wreckage were cleared away to allow the roadway to fully reopen around noon Wednesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
