Amy Schumer hosted Saturday Night Live over the weekend—a weekend that capped what she revealed, Sunday on Instagram, had been "the hardest week of my life." As she explained, "I missed Thursday rehearsals when my son was rushed to ER and admitted for RSV. Shout out to all the parents going though this right now. I got to be with him the whole day at the hospital and the beautiful humans at @nbcsnl couldn’t have been more supportive." Her son Gene, whom she shares with husband Chris Fischer, turned 3 in May. RSV, or respiratory syncytial virus, is dangerous for kids under 5 and has been sending lots of children to hospitals this season.

Schumer went on to reveal in her post that her little boy "is home and better," and to give shout-outs to the SNL crew. "Lorne [Michaels] has assembled the most talented people with the kindest hearts. Thank you everyone there and to the doctors and nurses who helped us," she wrote. Also Sunday, Schumer shared an image of herself in her son's hospital bed with the toddler on her lap, in an oxygen mask. Yahoo News has a screenshot. "This was our Thursday," she wrote over the image. "RSV is not f---ing around." (More Amy Schumer stories.)
