TMZ was the first to start the whispers about a potential new beau for Cher, after the 76-year-old singer and actress was spotted last week in West Hollywood holding hands with Def Jam exec Alexander Edwards, the 36-year-old ex-partner of model Amber Rose. The rumor mill ramped up even more as curious fans went back through Cher's tweets and found one from the day before that apparent date, in which the star noted, "One part of my life is SO AMAZING," including an emoji with heart eyes, per E! News.

In the early morning hours on Sunday, Cher posted a pic of Edwards with a heart emoji, and when someone responded with a "IS THIS YOUR NEW MAN!?," she responded with a smiley face encircled with hearts. Other tweets inquiring about her status with Edwards received a similarly positive answer, though she never came right out to say she was dating him. The proof of that seemed to come, however, in how defensive she got as people questioned the age difference between the two.

"I DONT GIVE A FK WHAT ANYONE THINKS," was her reply to one person who broached the subject. She had preceded that tweet with: "I'm Not Defending us.Haters are Gonna Hate ... Doesn' Matter That we're Happy & Not Bothering Anyone." Edwards shares a 3-year-old son with Rose. Cher has been married twice, to the late singers Sonny Bono and Greg Allman, and has two children, Chaz Bono, 53, and Elijah Blue Allman, 46. She has also had high-profile romantic relationships with Val Kilmer, Tom Cruise, Kiss' Gene Simmons, and record label mogul David Geffen, per the Independent. (More Cher stories.)
