John Edwards apparently wants nothing to do with the press these days in the wake of tabloid reports that he was caught visiting a mistress and their love child, the News & Observer reports. The National Enquirer reported online earlier this month that its reporters had spotted Edwards visiting the woman, a former campaign videographer, at a California hotel. Edwards referred to the matter last week as "tabloid trash" but has not commented further.
